What do Saoirse and Aoife Mean?
Saoirse
(pronounced SEER-sha) is a Gaelic word that means “freedom.” The name is reported as borne out of Irish independence. I choose this name for my consulting business because it reflects my consulting approach and Irish roots. Freedom enables me to adapt my approach depending on client needs and apply my diverse set of skills and experiences. I strive to deliver results that have a lasting impact and free my clients and their organizations to continue to grow and lead.
Aoife
(pronounced EE-fa) is derived from the Gaelic word Aoibh meaning “beautiful, radiant, joyful.” I grew up in Ireland and came to the United States to attend university. I arrived freshman year, at the age of sixteen, with a thick Irish accent and an unusual-sounding name. I very much appreciate it and I am flattered when non-Irish speakers attempt to pronounce my name.
